I have been thinking of you many times throughout the past months. I hope that you are doing well. Do you remember coming to our home in February? I believe your visit had an impact.. let me explain how.
Well, I (finally) resigned from Siemens, left there in mid-March. Since then, I got my life back—doing many things I’ve wanted to do for a long time… The first three months, I worked on the house, painted three rooms (your recommendations), cleaned out closets, got rid of lots of stuff. Per your suggestion, we put up lots of our western photos from our visits out west… Then, I spent the summer with my daughter. I always wanted to be a summer camp counselor, and I was one for the “Gummy Bears”, a group of six-year-olds, at my daughter’s camp at Westtown Friends. Eight weeks, sweating, moving around—- what was I thinking??? I was the oldest group counselor, and I felt it, but am proud to have “gone to the other side.” Then, we DID go back out west to Wyoming—Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, rafting, horseback riding—it was Becca’s first time out there and she had a ball.
We made some big decisions based upon our values—- since I left my corporate job, Becca is now (beginning this school year) in public school. For the first time, she is not in extended care in the a.m. and p.m., she rides the school bus and loves it! We are trying to unload some things we don’t need anymore—- selling them on ebay, taking to consignment shops, etc. The only thing I miss is my own paycheck, but I’m getting over it for the time being.
And now, I am looking for work—aiming for part-time. I’ll keep you posted.
I just wanted to let you know that Dave and I used your suggestions. Regarding my work, I was leaning on leaving. However, your visit really prompted us to look at our home and our lives, and I thank you.
